Nordstrom Rack Finds: Tory Burch & Ted Baker Sandals

My Mom came and visited during Mother’s Day weekend, and of course, we shopped, shopped, and shopped.  One of my favorite places to stop is Nordstrom Rack, and we have quite a few in the D.C. area.  The best one, in my opinion, is in the downtown area in Penn Quarter.  It’s a huge store, and they are always stocked with great pieces from clothing to shoes & accessories.  I didn’t find any new clothing pieces to add to my wardrobe while I was there, but I did find two new pairs of sandals at great prices.

The first pair I found are the simple and easy Tory Burch Terra Thong Sandals in nude.  They are sold out on the Tory Burch website, but they had a lot in stock (both nude and black) at Nordstrom Rack- so you might want to call your local one to see if they have any!  It looks like PoshMark also has a few up, so if you like this style, check there too!

End of the Year Boot Haul

 {One two more days to enter the Holiday Beauty Bundle Giveaway I’m hosting with Beauty With Sandy Noemy!}

About a month ago I found myself in need of some retail therapy.  Since it’s been so cold, and for some reason I feel I can never have enough boots, I decided to go a bit crazy and pick up some new pairs for the rest of the season.

My first killing was on Piperlime, one of my favorite sites for absolutely everything.  A few weeks ago they had 25% off all boots.  Awesome.
I love Chinese Laundry boots, so when I saw these over the knee South Bay Boots, I knew they needed to be mine immediately.  First, I love any and all over the knee boots, but I also love how I can fold these to just knee highs, and they look great too.  I had $50 saved up in my Gap Visa Rewards [Piperlime is owned by Gap] & shipping and handling was free, so basically I paid almost nothing for them.  BAM.
These boots are currently on sale for $80, and I’m sure you can fish around the web for a promo code or two!
My next pit stop was Macy’s.  I’m a cardholder so I’m always getting crazy coupons and I always feel like I pay  nothing.  I went shopping on a Friday morning while my car was being serviced, and of course Macy’s was having some crazy random sale right when the store opened for just the first few hours after opening.  I was naturally sucked into the shoe section.
My second boot purchase were these super cute Madden Girl Cactus Boots, in black- although honestly, they look more grey-blue than black.  Anyway, I think the back is unique and I like the rough look of the boot, I tried them on, realized I had nothing like this in my closet already, and boom bam bought them.
They retail for $90.  As part of the door-buster deal they were 20% off, and then another 15% off when I used my Macy’s card…which means I paid $62.  I liked the “black” version the most, but the cognac is cute too, I’m not loving the brown though.

Right now Macy’s has them listed for $70 with 10% off using promo code HURRY.

My last purchase was a pair of brown Rampage Idera Riding Boots I’ve been wearing literally nonstop since I purchased them.  I’ve gotten so many compliments and they match with everything and are incredibly comfortable.  Right now Macy’s has them for 50% off, the same price I purchased them at {34.50} and then when you use promo code HURRY you’ll get an extra 10% off.

Every woman loves a good pair of boots, and if you see a pair you just need to have, be as thrifty as possible and look up any store sales, in addition to promo codes you can use as well!

Anyone bought any good boots this season? xo

Spring Flat Must Haves

I’m just casually putting together all the spring items I feel I can’t live without this season.  Since I’m always moving around from work to class, playing with the dog, going grocery shopping, etc my need for cute & colorful flats is at an all time high this spring.
I’ve come up with five pairs, of which I plan on getting two this year.  I’m thinking the TOMS don’t count in the two, because ya know, nobody can ever have too many pairs of those.  Anyway, hmmm, which ones will I pick? =]

3. Kate Spade Trudi Flats {$228}

OBSESSED: The Row Limited Edition Tom’s

Last year TOMS, the now ever so popular brand of super comfy slip ons, announced Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s label, The Row, would be releasing a limited edition collection in the fall of 2011.  If you’re not familiar with TOMS, it’s a shoe company that gives a pair of TOMS to a child in need with every single pair purchased.  The brand has really exploded and is sold almost everywhere, even in high end department stores like Bergdorf’s.  They’ve come out with some many creative styles from colorful glitters to suede and wool styles, I love them all and in my opinion you can never have too many pairs.

Well, being a TOMS lover, and a luxe lover, I knew I had to get a pair of The Row TOMS.  They were on my Christmas list, and good thing I told my mom about them right when they were released because you can barely find them now in a wide selection of sizes/ styles.  However, I did just see the ones I got for Christmas on Cusp the other day, check them out here.  The Row TOMS are def more expensive than the typical pair, but I think it’s so worth it.

Get Your Fall On: Riding Boots

If there’s one thing every girl should have in their closet for the fall weather, it’s a good pair of riding boots.  You can wear them with leggings or skinny jeans, a skirt or a dress…and you can dress them up or down.  Basically, they go with any and everything this time of year…and everyone in the world should own a pair.

I’m still on the hunt for my ‘to die for pair’ of the season…so here are some of the current contenders.
PS: If you invest in a seriously good pair of riding boots, they’ll last you forever.

Coconuts, Walker Riding Boot — $139.95

Frye, Shirley Riding Boot — $448.00
