Thursday’s Fab Five

I hope the first 16 days of 2020 have treated y’all well! So far I’ve been super impressed with 2020! I’m excited to share five items I’ve recently incorporated into my daily routine, in today’s Thursday’s Fab Five.

SoftLips Lip Protectant SPF 20 Vanilla, $3

Okay, first of all, this price…$3 for two lip balms? Yes, please! I discovered SoftLips at Target, shoutout to the Target app and all those dang coupons- this was a great discovery! I love that this lip balm has SPF 20, and the price is so perfect I bought a few packs and just have them literally everywhere. My lips feel soft and hydrated when I use it- not sticky, and I don’t need to reapply every 10 minutes to keep that soft feeling, thank gawwwd.

2015 Favorites: Philosophy & Bliss

I have two new skincare products that I’ve quickly brought into my PM routine 100%.  & I plan on using these through the year I love them so much…official staples.
New 2015 Favorites

I’m a crazed fan of Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Wash, I’ve been using it for years now, likeeee maybe 5 years?  I’ll never stop using it.  However, now that facial oils seem to be all the rage, I adopted the Purity Made Simple Mineral Oil-Free Facial Cleansing Oil into my routine, and I’m addicted.  It’s such an amazing makeup remover, I can’t even begin to describe it.  I always use the original Purity in the shower, but nights that I have a ton of makeup on, or if I want to take off the day right when I get home rather than in the shower, I’ve been using this mineral cleansing oil.

It feels like everything makeup and just, gross, is melting off my skin instantly.  I wash it away with water and boom my skin is instantly cleansed and fresh.  No weird oily residue, no redness or irritation.  Just fresh skin ready to relax.
The second product I’ve been obsessing over is Bliss’ Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Foaming Cleanser.  I use this right after the Purity Oil,  just one pump is all I need.  I love how foamy it is, and it doesn’t dry out my skin at all, which is really why I love it so much for this time of year.  It’s a very light cleanser, doesn’t irritate and is super light and refreshing.  I haven’t had any flare ups or break outs since adding the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Foaming Cleanser, I think this is my new go to cleanser for the year.

I plan on restocking both of these products through the year, they’ve done wonders for me and I’ve been using them both for only just under a month!

Philosophy Holiday 2012

Since I am such a holiday freak with absolutely everything…beauty products, decorations, and most importantly…food…I’ll be sharing all my holiday lust lists from now until Christmas!  So, get excited!
Philosophy is one of my favorite skincare brands, I’ve been using Purity Made Simple for years, and I love love love their bath & shower gels…especially at Christmas time!  Last year I bought Peppermint Bark and LOVED IT.  Todayyyy I purchased Philosophy holiday gift set from Sephora called The Cookbook.  Instead of getting one large holiday bottle, I like variety in my life so I’m opting for four little bottles…I think it’s way more fun that way.
Peppermint Bak, Hot Buttered Rum, Cinnamon Buns, Old Fashioned Eggnog
Here are some of my favorite from the ’12 holiday collection!  If anyone wants to purchase me these, thanks in advance! ;]
All of these are available here, and make sure to check out the Philosophy Holiday Catalog…it’s super cute!!

Philosophy’s Hope Spring Eternal

Even though it hasn’t exactly been winter weather here in D.C. there have been some windy days which can be harsh on your skin.  If you’re busy during the day and don’t have time to completely redo your makeup to liven up your face, I highly suggest misting Philosophy’s Hope Springs Eternal Deep Sea Ultra-Fine Hydrating Mist on your face a few times to awaken your skin and make you look fresh and newwwww.

This mist smells good and is super hydrating for your face, which is perfect for winter or windy weather when your skin is facing harsh conditions. Philosophy claims the mist has 250 deep sea minerals, which is a lot, but I mean whatever, I guess it’s possible.  I’d also suggest this spray to set your makeup after you’ve finished applying it, it will basically seal everything in and create a nice finished look.

I use this all the time throughout the day in between work and class, or…even better…class and happy hour.  It really is a fine mist, so you don’t look like you sprayed anything on yourself at all (ex. greasy or wet look) — and because of that, it dries quickly.  I wish I had a small bottle to carry around with me everywhere I go, I’d literally use it all the time, I like it that much.  This is just another great product by Philosophy, one of my favorite brands, and it’s definitely become a staple in my everyday routine!

Philosophy: Never Let Them See You Shine

I bought this cleanser at a boutique in Princeton, I had never seen it before and since I love Philosophy so much I went ahead and gave it a try.  Well, I’m super glad I bought it because it has been working great for me!  I use this in the morning and it makes me feel squeaky clean and fresh.  I can tell it’s having a positive effect on my skin because I feel more matte looking while applying my makeup, which is def a good thing.

Something I really like about Never Let Them See You Shine is that it has a creamy consistency, a little goes a long way, and it’s oil controlling without being harsh.  It basically feels like a moisturizer.  It’s also cooling, which is nice when waking up in the morning.  If you’re looking for a new cleanser to switch up your routine a bit, then def try this one out.

Overall, I’m really impressed with this cleanser and I’m glad I’ve incorporated it into my morning routine.  There’s a lot of product in the bottle, and the fact that you don’t need too much to get the job done makes me happy, I know my $20 spent on it will go a long way!

While looking up pictures and online purchasing information I found that this product isn’t very easy to find.  Sephora no longer sells it, I’m not sure why because it got really great reviews on the website.  I did however find it on the Philosophy website, here!!
