Budget Beauty: Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes

I’m a huge Burt’s Bees fan, my two favorite products being both the Pomegranate Oil and the Pink Grapefruit Lip Balms.  Howeverrrrrr, recently I’ve added another Burt’s Bees product into my daily routine, the Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes, that have become a serious daily obsession.  I used to use the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes pretty regularly, but I thought I’d give the Burt’s Bees product a try since they’re more natural, & honestly, I like the packaging more too.

Burts Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes

These cleansing towelettes work great to take off my daily makeup, it even gets all of my mascara off.  Grapefruit is great for oily/ acne-prone skin, which is why I’ve always used a cleansing wipe with grapefruit as the featured ingredient, and the Burt’s Bees wipes are natural and paraben-free, which is what drew them to me the most.

After removing all my makeup I feel fresh and clean, even though I always follow-up with a cleanser just to remove any lingering dirt or makeup, and I never have that film-y feel some wipes tend to leave on skin.  I think these facial wipes are perfect when you get home after a long night out, and the gentle refreshing scent is helpful for those times too, if you get what I mean.

I know there are hundreds of new and different facial wipes out there in the beauty world right now, but currently I’m loving the Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit, and I think I will for quite a while!

Budget Beauty: Boots Botanics Iconic Clay Mask

Boots Botanics Iconic Clay Mask

I’m a major fan of the clay mask- they help to control breakouts/ oil production and they leave my skin feeling purified and detoxified.  The Boots Botanics Iconic Clay Mask is a perfectly priced clay mask that will target your blemish-prone areas and clear up any congested areas.

While I use this mask all over my face, it would still work really well as more of a spot-treatment if you prefer that.  At first I was a little confused because it seemed strangely watery, so I always made sure I shook it up a few times before applying.

A key ingredient in the Iconic Clay Mask is willow bark, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and it being a natural salicylic acid.

One tip I recently learned about clay masks is to not let them dry completely.  Typically I would remove the mask once it felt dry and like I couldn’t move my face.  Well, don’t do that.  Remove the mask once you begin to feel it tightening.

Budget Beauty: Nivea Touch of Renewal

As spring blooms it’s important to start getting your skin warm weather ready.  I’ve officially pulled out all my sundresses and tucked away my heavy winter sweaters, so now it’s time to get my skin in gear.

Nivea Touch of Renewal

Nivea’s Touch of Renewal Lathering Body Scrub is the perfect drugstore buy to scrub and cleanse away that winter skin and let your summer skin shine.  You can even use it as part of your daily shower routine.
The thing I love about this product the most is how incredibly gentle it is- I use it mainly on the shoulders and chest area because of it’s fine exfoliation and a main ingredient is Vitamin E, which is great for anti-aging and smoothing the skin.  Sometimes we forget how important it is to have a chest/ neck beauty regimen, that part of the body shows aging quickly!!

As far as scent goes, it’s a very clean and light scent…nothing overpowering or too fragrance-y.

Body scrubs can be expensive, but Nivea Touch of Renewal does an amazing job at the perfect price point of about $6!

Budget Beauty: Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On

I’m super lucky I have no under eye issues at the moment, no dark circles or puffiness…I’m not sure how I’ve gotten to be so lucky, but I’m riding this wave as long as humanly possible.
I’m obsessed with Clinique’s All About Eyes Serum, I’ve been using it for years.  I’ve even gotten my mom & a few friends hooked on it.  Butttt, it does come with a $29 price tag, which isn’t ideal, but always seems so damn worth it..le sigh.
My back-up eye treatment is Simple’s Revitalizing Eye Roll-On, which at $11 is a bit more wallet friendly with about the same product impact & results.  The application process is the same, the cool metal roller ball soothes under eyes with Pro-vitamin B & Cucumber Extract to combat puffiness and that tired eye look.
I really enjoy using Simple products, I’m a big fan of their Cleansing Facial Wipes, because their products are hypoallergenic and perfect for those with sensitive skin.  I also find their products very refreshing, probably because of their great natural ingredient choices.
The Revitalizing Eye Roll-On is so refreshing and cooling, perfect for both morning as a “waker uper” and evening as a relaxing “omg I’m so tired where did the day go” eye gel.  It absorbs quite well & I never have that sticky feeling, which can happen easily with under eye creams/ roller balls.
If you’re looking for a budget friendly eye treatment that delivers on it’s promises, then think about trying out Simple’s Revitalizing Eye Roll-On, you can find it pretty much anywhere & I guarantee you won’t be disappointed, it’s the perfect staple product.

Budget Beauty: CVS Eye Makeup Remover

I spend a fair amount of money on my skincare routine, but one area that I seriously save on is my eye makeup remover! I’ve been using CVS’s Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover a long time now and I love it.  It seriously gets the job done on stubborn eye liner, waterproof mascara, and heavy shadows for only $5.99 a bottle.

My main draw to this product is that you don’t feel oily after using it like most eye makeup removers that rely on oil to get the waterproof makeup off.  To remove the makeup I soak a big cotton pad and hold it to my eye for about 10 seconds then gently wipe away everything.  I don’t wear false lashes so I layer on mascara like crazy so I have to take a lot of extra time to get all of that off, but this remover has always worked best for that!

I’ve used both L’oreal Dermo-Expertise Eye and Lumene Waterproof eye makeup removers and hated them.  I don’t like the consistency and I felt like I had to rub and pull to make the makeup come off — totally not good for the sensitive eye area.

Neutrogena makes a similar oil-free eye makeup remover to the CVS brand, but it’s $2 more and honestly they both work the exact same.  If you don’t have a CVS near you Target brand Up and Up’s eye makeup remover is exactly like CVS’s (and for a $1 less!!).

It’s super important to take off your eye makeup, and all of it at that.  I know it gets annoying to take off so much mascara or eyeliner, but you can seriously damage your lashes if you don’t take that extra minute or two to make sure it’s all off!!
