Toner is my favorite part of my skincare routine. I use a toner for both AM and PM routines, but I like to switch up the type of toner I use.
Boots Botanics is a great brand, it’s affordable and high quality, using natural and gentle ingredients. In my continued quest to branch out into more drugstore
type products, I figured I would give the brand a try and pick up their Shine Away Mattifying Toner
and the Rosewater Toning Spritz
For my AM routine I always use the Mattifying Toner. It controls shine and has clarifying willowbark as a featured ingredient, which is a natural salicylic acid. Throughout the day I never know what is going to be thrown at me, so I need to have that base from my toner controlling any potential oil issues. After using this toner the rest of my skincare goes on perfectly, and I’m set for applying my makeup.
I’ve been using this toner for a few months now and I’m loving how fresh and clean my skin feels in the morning after I use it. Seeing and feeling the mattifying powders, without having that dry and tightening feeling, makes me feel like this product is really doing its job. This is a definite repurchase.
During my PM routine I reach for the Rosewater Toning Spritz– it feels like a little bit of luxury with the light refreshing rosewater scent before bed. This toner works to tighten pores and purify your face, which is perfect after a long day of wearing makeup. This toner is much more comparable to a “water” type of fluid as opposed to my AM mattifying toner which has more of a texture to it because of the powders. This extra moisture from the Rosewater Toning Spritz helps the rest of my PM skincare absorb into my skin more effectively.

While I try to just use my cleansing oil to remove all of my makeup nightly, sometimes I need something a little extra if I’m wearing more mascara, eyeliner, or shadow than usual. It can be tough to remove waterproof makeup, you don’t want to tug or use anything to harsh on/ around your eyes.
When I was in Target one day I spotted these Yes To Cucumbers Eye Makeup Remover Pads
* and I figured I’d give them a try. First of all, I love the scent- the smell of cucumbers is relaxing and spa like to me. There’s a lot of product on one pad, and the formula is ideal for those with sensitive skin as aloe is a central ingredient. The Yes to Cucumber Eye Makeup Remover Pads
* remove all of my stubborn eye makeup, but I will say I use one pad per
eye, which not everyone would love doing.
For the price of these eye makeup remover pads, you really cannot go wrong. They’re easy to use, work effectively, and the cucumber element adds a bit more spa like luxury to your routine.

I’m a huge fan of charcoal products, I’ve been using a variety for quite some time. While I love Origins and Lush charcoal products, it’s always nice to try a more budget friendly option every once and awhile. Bioré makes great products, and once I saw their Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar* I knew I needed to give it a try.
If you enjoy reading beauty articles, there’s no doubt you’re familiar with how great charcoal can be for your skin. Charcoal is basically a magnet for dirt and other yucky things in your skin, it’ll pull out anything clogging your pores and will control excess oil by delivering an excellent exfoliation.
The Bioré Charocal Bar contains peppermint oil and jojoba beads as well, which keeps skin feeling fresh and smooth. I use this product every morning, but I only put the bar directly on my face and exfoliate every 2 or 3 days- otherwise I just create a nice lather and wash.
I’ve found a huge change in my skin since using this product, I wear makeup every day and for a long time. Using the Bioré Charcoal Bar in the morning really sets me up for my makeup application and long day. I’ve noticed a huge drop in tiny breakouts and pore issues I was having, and I know for a fact it’s because of this fantastic product!

When looking for a PM moisturizer I want something that’ll keep me hydrate, fight free radicals, and generally heal and replenish my skin with whatever it loses due to daily stuff such as pollution, irritants, and makeup.
The hype surrounding Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel
* has been real
since it came out. Between all of the commercials and ads in my favorite magazines, I knew I had to test it out.
This product can be worn AM and/or PM, I choose it as a PM moisturizer because I enjoy having an SPF in my AM one.
This water gel is incredible, it feels so cooling and amazing, and seriously hydrates my skin after a long day of work. My skin has recently been changing from oily to a bit dry, and this was the first product I purchased to accompany my change in skin- and it’s definitely a keeper.
Although it’s a bit different than your typical moisturizer, the application is the same, a little goes a long way. I love how quickly it absorbs, and it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy or oily, just refreshed. The main ingredients, hyaluronic acid and olive extract serve as super hydration machines which make this product so great.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is the perfect addition to a nightly skincare routine during the winter months. Even if you don’t have “dry” skin, it’s so important to make sure you are extra hydrated and protected when moving into the cooler months.
I’m almost out of my first jar of this product, and it’s already on my repurchase list. I was recently given the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Eye Cream, I’m still using a different eye cream, but I’m looking forward to trying out this one next!!
I’ve been wearing the Nyx Butter Lipstick in Little Susie
since the weekend, every morning even though without school I have nothing to do I’m still putting it on…ha. I received this in one of my Ipsy bags, & honestly, if it wasn’t for Ipsy, I would probably would have never tried this product.
I’m usually a strictly gloss girl, but this butter lipstick delivers lipstick like pigmentation with high shine and hydration. The formula melts perfectly into my lips & seriously, look at this color, it screams summer fun.
In reading various reviews on this product, some users said it wasn’t very long lasting. I have mixed feelings on this, the first time I used it I thought it lasted really well. Thennn, the next time I used it, not so much- I could still see some of the pigment but overall it looked very dull after just about 2 hours. I really think it just depends on the person, how much you’re exfoliating, & if there are any other products on your lips.
Not only is this color fantastic, but there are 22, yes 22, other colors the Nyx Butter Lipstick comes in…I can definitely see myself purchasing some fall colors soon.
