There are no words to describe how terrible the situation in Japan is, and just like with Haiti the world needs to come together to help rebuild a nation. Thankfully, in today’s world there are a million different outlets that make helping out that much easier. Using fashion and beauty were great ways to get people involved in the Haiti relief, and I suspect the same will be said for the efforts in Japan.
Here are just a few ways to help out!
Tory Burch has a limited edition, Japan relief t-shirt
for $29. All the proceeds go directly to the Red Cross and will be available until September. If you’re a member of Rue La La
they’ll have the t-shirt in a boutique for the next 4 days. I preordered mine a few days ago, and now they are officially on sale!

I got back last night from my fabulous London/ Rome spring break. I didn’t want it to end!!! I wanted to do more posts while I was overseas but Internet access was limited.
I had so much fun shopping in London, everyone dresses so cute & the vibe is different than in the States. I didn’t see as much fashion on the street in Rome as I did in London. & Rome’s street fashion, as my bff had told me, was a little…off…but they did have a fabulous five story Zara…enough said.
My favorite purchases this trip were def my two new scarves from Marks and Spencer,
a department store in London. Spring has sprung, which means the addition of bright exciting colors to everyone’s wardrobe! Both of these scarves were affordable, and I know they’ll go with almost anything I wear. Also, the fabric is so soft and cuddly, I just love it.

I have been fortunate enough to have the most fabulous and glamorous time in London thus far!! Yesterday, my friend Sonia and I got into Heathrow around 10:30 in the morning, and went to her cousin’s apartment in Holborn. It’s so cute, we walked around on the roof and I just started taking it all in. So beautiful!
We went to a nice steakhouse, Sophie’s Steakhouse
, for lunch and then I settled in at the Grange Holbone Hotel
, my home for the next few days. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and of course I got the hookup and I’m in a super nice suite. Since we were jet lagged we just walked around town for a little bit and then took a nap to rest up before her cousin’s 21st birthday party!

I leave for London in a few hours, but I really wanted to get a post in first! One thing I know I will be wearing every single day while I’m in London and Rome is Benefit’s High Beam
I purchased my first High Beam about a year ago– and I can def say it has become a year round staple in my makeup bag. I bring it everywhere with me!
High Beam can be used anywhere on your face…I use it on my eyes, on the top of my cheekbones, and a tiny bit above my brow bone and on the bridge of my nose. It instantly brightens up my complexion without doing too much….so easy and effortless!!
I also sometimes mix a small amount into my tinted moisturizer…but depending on how you apply bronzer, it may lose its effect. If you just go through the day with tinted moisturizer on, I suggest mixing some High Beam in…you’ll have an awesome glow throughout the day!

Truth: I hate going to the gym. I always think it smells weird. I’m scared the machines are super dirty. And if I’m gonna go, I want it to be empty– which is only at 6am (…snooze).
Although I hate the gym I do know how important it is to work out and stay healthy. So, I’ve attempted to make my dorm room into a mini-gym that caters to exactly what I want to do. I don’t have to worry about my room smelling weird, being dirty, or too crowded- it’s perfect! So, if you don’t like going to the gym either here are some simple suggestions to create your room into a relaxing and easy place to get a good workout in.

To be honest, I used to always view New York and Company as a mom store and I didn’t plan on shopping there until I was 40. HOWEVER, one day I decided to go in and look for a business casual outfit and ended up finding MUCH more than that. Now, I’m completely addicted to NY&CO– their clothes are affordable and they carry all the basics (ex. all my tanks are NY&CO) that you can add to with less mom-like stores.
I’m sure you’re wondering what made me instantly change my mind. Well, let’s start with the prices…$9.95 for leggings. PERFECT. They aren’t cheaply made and come in a variety of colors. They also carry different styles of leggings, knit jeggings for example, which are perfect for the cold weather. I also have an amazing pair of leggings with lace going all the way up the side, but they were sold out online instantly.

So, fresh off talking about how much I love Lush here is a review on my absolute favorite product by them– Coalface Cleansing Bar.
The coalface bar is perfect for anybody who has normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin steer clear using this as a daily cleanser, the bar might be way to harsh for you and dry you out. I’m right on the border of normal to oily which is why I think this product works so well for me.
At first I was leery of buying a “bar” cleanser– I’ve always viewed them as moisture stripping and just the idea of them sounded ancient to me. But, when I tried coalface in the store I was intrigued and bought some to try. Ever since then I’m already on my second bar (each bar lasts a fair amount of time..my first one lasted me 4 months).

For the passed year or so I have been absolutely addicted to Lush products. Every time I walk into a Lush store I wonder how many bags I’m going to walk out with.
Answer: always at least 2
Here’s a quick rundown on why I LOVE LUSH!!
Their products are all natural and organic– I’ve recently been switching over my morning/nighttime routine to strictly organic and it’s had amazing benefits for my skin.
I’m a HUGE animal lover and I don’t agree with animal testing– which is perfect in this case because Lush doesn’t test on animals!!

Welcome to my World!
Creating a beauty, fashion, & lifestyle blog is something I’ve been wanting to do for SUCH a long time. My name is Liz and I’m a junior at George Washington University, majoring in sociology and psychology. My ultimate goal is to be an elementary school teacher and counselor with an event planning business on the side. I also plan on getting my license in cosmetology right after I graduate college.
So, why am I making this blog and why should people listen to any advice I may want to dish out??? Well, I have been obsessed with makeup and beauty since as long as I can remember. Even before my tween days I would give makeovers to my stuffed animals and (then) fearful family members. So, it’s safe to say this has always been something I’ve loved.
