Thursday’s Fab Five

Why has this week felt so long, and it’s only Thursday?! I cannot wait for the weekend to be here to relax, catch up on some blogging & grading, and to just simply relax.  There’s always so much going on!
Cannot wait for the next Scandal tonight…last week was out of control & I loved every minute of it!
Anyhoo, check out the top five products I’ve been loving for the past two weeks.  I definitely see some full size purchases in my future!

Thursday's Fab Five

You have no idea how sad I was when I used up my third sample of this product…I literally made a sad face I was so bummed.  Guess this means I have to drop $46 on the full size because seriously this product is incredible.  This oil made my skin look so fresh and radiant, I was shocked each time I applied it and then saw myself in the mirror.  The sunflower and Tamanu oils along with ginger root oil help to show your best you, the antioxidants fight free radicals  & do a great job at it.  The oil didn’t affect me applying makeup and I think it actually allowed me to use less makeup since my skin was so much brighter.  Def not a budget product, but def an incredible product.
Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Gel-to-Oil Cleanser, $28
My nightly skincare routine always involves a double cleanse, first with a specific makeup remover like this Bliss product, and then with a targeted face cleanser.  I’ve been using this Gel-to-Oil cleanser for a while now, the gel part is definitely interesting, but I like the consistency of when it changes from gel to oil.  It takes off my waterproof mascara perfectly, and removes all makeup to prep my skin for whichever targeted cleanser I choose for the night.

MAC Tinted Lipglass in Pink Nouveau, $16
I love love love the light pink color this gives my lips, and my favorite part, the shine factor is high.  It’s so easy to put this on top of your favorite lipstick for some added kick, but I also love wearing this on its own too.  MAC has a lot of great lipglass colors, but this one caught my eye because I think it’s so flexible in how many different lipsticks you could pair it with.

Starbucks Quilted Pink Double Wall Traveler, $18.95
The Valentine’s Day collection from Starbucks this year is perfection.  The light pinks, hearts, and glitter tumblers are basically almost sold out everywhere, so I knew I needed to move fast on this quilted pink traveler mug.  I have nice little collection of these, I use them every day for work, so adding another one to my collection was no big deal.  I love the color, it’s nice and bright, and the quilted look gives it a cute winter vibe.

Bath & Body Works Cinnamon Caramel Swirl 3-Wick Candle
This scent is no longer available online, but you might be able to find it in store!  It’s super sweet, which I usually don’t love, but for some reason I really really like this scent!  I have it burning in my kitchen now, so if you love sweet smelling candles, this one will be perfect for you!

Thursday’s Fab Five

Today on Thursday’s Fab Five I’m featuring the top 5 makeup products I used all week!  I’m mixing some budget beauty with some of my Sephora favorites, let me know your thoughts!

Thursday's Fab Five

This is my favorite foundation ever, and I keep needing to buy more because I go through it so quickly.  From the price point, to coverage, to just being a quality foundation, I love love love my Infallible Matte Pro foundation.  The color range seems decent too, which is helpful from season to season.
Now I know this isn’t the cheapest mascara on the block, but so many elements of this mascara makes it my current favorite of the moment.  I love the brush, it coats all of my lashes, and gives great length & volume.  I haven’t had any smudging issues and it’s super black, my lashes look incredible every time I use it!

Lorac Golden Glow TANtalizer Baked Bronzer, $33
I’ve been using this for a while, and I love the soft glow it gives me.  It does have some sparkle to it, so I use it sparingly, but it doubles as a great soft highlight and bronzer each day.  & I love baked makeup products, so that’s a double bonus.

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blush, $29
A gorgeous rose gold blush that I cannot get enough of.  First of all, I’ve always been obsessed with the Benefit blushes, and this one is rich in color and looks great on all skin types.  It’s natural looking and very “buildable”, depending on how dramatic of a look you want.  Oh yeah, and the packaging is superrrrr, superrrr, cute!!

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian, $20
First of all, let me say, Buxom is my all time favorite lip gloss brand.  I love the variety in colors, I love the ingredients that plump, and I love the shine it gives to my look.  White Russian is a pale nude, it goes with everything, and works whether you’re dressed up, or dressed down.  I have two, I keep one in my beauty room & one in my bag, at all times.

What are some things you’ve been loving this week!?

Thursday’s Fab Five

Ah, after so many awesome Christmas presents I don’t know where to start in terms of what I’ve been loving the past two weeks!!  Check out some new favorites, and one or two oldie favorites, that I’ve been using daily, after the jump!

Thursday's Fab Five

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer, $31
One of my favorite primers ever!  This is the only primer I used while on holiday break and it did an incredible job, especially for New Year’s Eve!  I love the silky feeling when you apply this, it has an interesting texture that I really like.  It’s both mattifying and pore minimizing, two things I’m always trying to combat.  It’s the perfect base for any foundation and absorbs quickly so you can continue right on with your routine.  Stop into Ulta and see if you can get a sample of this product, it’ll last a few times and you can really get a great sense of the type of primer it is!

My Christmas Day mani featured this deep purple/ burgundy color.  It was a perfect mix of vampy yet still holiday appropriate.  This is one of my favorite Essie colors, it’s super chic and looks great in different lighting.
The Body Shop Shea Body Butter, $12.60
On sale right now at Ulta!! This is an old favorite, I’ve used this Shea body butter for years.  The smell is incredible and rich, and the quality of The Body Shop body butters is awesome, without an outrageous price tag.  I highly recommend using any body butter, especially in the winter.
Kay Dee Designs ‘Life’s a Hoot’ Kitchen Towel, $4.99
A super cute kitchen towel both my Mom & my Aunt bought it for me for Christmas- I didn’t mind the double gift though!  I love having one on each end, and a darker green kitchen towel in the middle, hanging from the oven door.  A bright and cheery new kitchen addition, how could it not make this week’s favorites list.

Bath & Body Works ‘Fresh Balsam’ 3-Wick Candle, $11.25
Unfortunately this candle is sold out online, but I am sure your local Bath & Body Works still has some in stock.  I know this is a popular Christmas candle, but I love it for the entire winter.  It’s fresh, warm, and cozy…which is exactly what we all need on a January night.  Bonus is that it’s on sale, yay!!

I have so many more favorites to share with you all!  I’m going to try my best to make this a bi-weekly post through the year.  Hoping to bring you tons of new products, both beauty & home, to try!

Thursday’s Fab Five

Check out what I’ve been loving this week!!

Thursday's Fab Five

I’ve been using this for about 2 weeks, I received a great size sample in a Birchbox, and I’m addicted!!  This clay based cleanser also gives a great mini exfoliation, I’ve been using this at night to get any leftover makeup and grime off…it’s been awesome!!

OPI Skull & Glossbones Polish, $9.50
I’ve had this color for a while, it’s from the Pirates of the Caribbean line.  I think it gives my nails a much needed break from fall’s dark polish, while still being perfect for the season.  I love the glossy grey finish, very chic.
Pumpkin Spice, Vodka & Ice Fleece, $35.00
This is from Coffee in the Shower shop, which is also one of my favorite Instagram’s.  Search online for a coupon code & you can get $10 off, I remember paying $25 for mine.  I love this sweatshirt, I think it’s hilarious, as is everything else in the shop.  I wear it mostly in my apartment, or in Starbucks the morning after drinking plenty of vodka & ice.

Perfect fall candle!  Rob & I were given this as a housewarming present, and I loved the way this pumpkin scent filled up our kitchen.  The prices for Village Candle’s cannot be beat, and I really want to add some more scents from this brand to my candle collection!
If you missed Monday’s Budget Beauty post, I featured this cleanser.  I’ve been using it a lot lately, so it definitely counts as a favorite for this week!  Actually, I’m almost out of my current bottle!!

Thursday’s Fab Five

D.C. is finally starting to feel like fall.  I just moved into a new apartment with my boyfriend, I’m looking forward to decorating for all the upcoming holidays, and get some fabulous meals cooked.  I also can’t wait to dive back into trying all new products for you!  I organized everything in our guest bathroom, which is becoming my beauty blogger room, so I’ll be doing tons of reviews coming up on what I love best.  Right now here’s what I’ve been loving this week!
Thursday's Fab Five

This deep plum is to die for, this type of purple is my favorite.  A little vampy, not too much, and depending on how the light hits your nails it brightens up a bit.  Just like the Tokyo theme of this season’s colors, this polish is chic & sophisticated, and will def yield you a compliment or two.
As soon as we moved into our new place I started burning this candle, this scent and Leaves are my favorite fall candles from Bath & Body Works.  Hopefully they’ll have a sale soon so I can stock up!  Autumn gives a warm aroma of apples, fig, & spice.  It doesn’t smell sweet.
This is a product from my Birchbox, and I’m obsessed- considering buying the full size with my Birchbox points.  Serum is one of my favorite parts of my routine, and I always use a targeted serum for either rosacea or breakouts.  I love feeling the aloe of the product, it feels so refreshing after using my toner.  The price point of this product is great too for a serum, def try it out.
These B&BW soaps are my go to for the October- January season.  Right now I’m using Fall Lakeside Breeze in my bathroom and I’m loving the basil & sandalwood scent combination.  It’s light, very fresh, and creates the perfect Earthy Fall vibe.  What more could I ask for?!
I’ve been trying to do my nails at home more often, and no matter how much time I give myself I always find I need to go do something and need my nails instantly dry.  I love using this cuticle oil because it gives great moisture to my cuticles while also acting as a protectant on my still drying nails.  I’ll be honest, not sure why it’s called apricot aside from the color, but I don’t really mind, since the oil does its job!

Thursday’s Fab Five

It’s such a weird time of me wanting summer to be over, and fall to be starting, it’s kind of getting annoying.  I’ve been trying a ton of new products lately and I’ve bought some fun new things for my home, so I’m excited to share five with you this week!

Thursday's Fab Five

The Body Shop’s Wild Argan Oil Bubbling Bath, $9.00
OMG, the scent of this is so incredible.  I love using this at night to relax, it’s so light, gives great bubbles, and makes my skin feel nice and smooth.

Bath & Body Works ‘Lilac Blossom’ 3-Wick Candle
I can’t find this candle on their website, but maybe it can still be found in store.  Lilac is one of my favorite scents and I love the fresh scent this candle gives my apartment.  After the first week back at work with a new school year it’s been the perfect scent to come home to!

AG Low Rise Ankle Legging Jean in Black, $225
I don’t play around with jeans, ever.  So, yes, I do spend quite a bit more on them but AG Jeans are my absolute favorite and I have a ton of pairs.  I just added these black legging jeans to my collection, I had an Anthropologie gift card, and a promo code, so I ended up paying much lower than the retail price.  These will be perfect to wear with boots this season.

Old Navy Medium Support Sports Bra, $20
I love Old Navy Sports Bras, they’re so affordable and they have a ton of different styles and colors.  I never shop at Old Navy so this was a huge new discovery for me, and I love it!

Lush Charity Pot Body Lotion, $7- $25
I’m a crazy Lush fan, I have a glass jar of bath bombs on my bathroom vanity…and right next to that I have a Lush Charity Pot lotion.  100% of the Charity Pot sales go straight back to small, grassroots, organizations that aid in human rights, animal welfare, or environmental conservation.  The lotion itself is awesome, as is anything Lush…super moisturizing and smells incredible.  My favorite part of this product though is that all, not just a small percentage, of the proceeds go back to helping others.

Thursday’s Fab Five

WOW, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Fab Five, amiright?!  Sorry!
The heat has been brutal here in D.C. so I’ve been trying to stay in air conditioning as much as possible.  I’m so looking forward to the fall, it’s been a great summer so far, but the heat as been intense.
Here’s what I’ve been loving this lately this summer!

Thursday's Fab Five

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50, $19
This has been my everyday sunscreen for my summer camp this year, and it works so well.  I had an entire pool day, where I didn’t even reapply, and had no burn!  The formula of this sunscreen is high quality, and no need to worry about streaky application or clogged pores after using!

Bath & Body Works ‘Watermelon Lemonade’ 3-Wick Candle, $22.50
SO YUMMY, this is my current living room candle!  The scent is sweet, tart, and fresh- its been a fun pick me up after a long day outside.  Right now Bath & Body Works is having a buy 1, get 1 free, candle sale- so make sure to head on over there to check out all the incredible scents!

Anthropologie Resplendent Cheese Knives, $32
One of my besties got me these gorgeous cheese knives for my birthday.  That blue color is everything- I love them so much!  I don’t have a set of good cheese knives, so this was seriously the perfect gift.

Adidas ‘Extaball’ High Top Sneaker, $51
Bought these from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so the price is dropped to $51.  I’m loving how everyone is bringing back the old school Adidas trends, so of course, I had to get in on it.

You are a Badass How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living Your Awesome Life by Jen Sincero, $9.99 (Kindle)
I started reading this book last week and while I’m not too far into it I’m loving the kick ass attitude Jen writes in, and how she throughly explains, using science and society, why we as women tend to “doubt our greatness”.

Thursday’s Fab Five

Check out my favorites from the week!!

Thursday's Fab Five

Lauren Conrad ‘Celebrate’, $17.25
I was an avid watcher of both Laguna Beach and The Hills in my teenage years, so of course I love that LC is now a blogger and lifestyle guru.  I was in the market for a new coffee table book, so  preordered her newest party planning how to book, Celebrate.

Lush Rub, Rub, Rub Shower Scrub, $22.95
First thing I’ll say is, this is a salt scrub, so if you don’t love salt scrubs, this might not be for you.  However, at the same time, this is my favorite pre-shave scrub ever in life.  I love its light blue color and light scent, and even though it is a salt based exfoliant, it isn’t over powering.  While I personally have never done it, Lush even suggests using this as a shampoo if needed because of the mineral rich sea salt.

Buxom Full on Lip Creme in White Russian, $20
I love Buxom Lip Cremes, and White Russian is my ultimate favorite.  If you’re unfamiliar with Buxom lip cremes they are lip plumping, which means it has a tingly feeling and makes your lips look fuller.  These lip cremes definitely have a glossy and bright look to them, without looking shimmery.  Did that make sense?

Miss Spa Pore Minimizing Facial Peel Off Mask, $2.99
I bought this product because Ulta had a buy one get one free sale on it, right now they’re having a buy one get one 50% off sale, so you might want to check it out.  When I was thinking about purchasing it the reviews were spotty but at $3 I decided to give it a try.  I was happy with my results, I had a much brighter complexion, my skin felt smooth, and it wasn’t too difficult to remove.  This mask is tasked with tightening pores and removing excess oil with tea tree oil.

Starbucks Chai Latte
Wednesday is my “Starbucks Day” when I treat myself for making it through half the week and realizing I only have half to go.  While I’m a huge caffeine person, I’ve recently been revitalizing my love for Chai lattes!  & the weather in D.C. has been so incredibly rainy & honestly, cold, it’s been the perfect cozy drink.

Thursday’s Fab Five

This week’s favorites!  Drum roll please…
Thursday's Fab Five

I bought these from DSW about a month ago and I love the magenta color!  The price point is perfect and they also have these flats in cobalt and teal, so they’re perfect for the spring weather that’s slowly creeping into 2016.
This color is from last year’s summer collection, it’s a great pistachio color that isn’t too loud looking.  Also, don’t you just love the name of this polish!?
Um, I just tried this new drink fro Starbucks this week, and it is incredible.  Def not something you’d want often because it is so unhealthy, but it’s a nice treat after a long day of teaching!  Also, Starbucks has a new rewards program, I’m not sure of all the details but I do know that free drinks are now based upon how much you spend versus the number of drinks you have purchased- I hope it’s a good change?
I bought this highlight powder in Rosy Glow during the Sephora VIB Rouge sale event this week and as soon as I opened it, and touched it, I was in love.  I’ve used it twice and it is soooooo highlight-y, it’s gorgeous!!!
My home smells like a garden tea party waiting to happen.  I love love love this scent.  It’s so clean, luxurious, and calming.  After a long stressful day this scent through my apartment seriously saves me from going insane.  There aren’t any candle sales right now, usually Bath & Body Works will have 2 for $22 or something like that, but keep this scent on your mind the next time they’re have a candle special!
Do you have any favorites you’ve been obsessing over the past few weeks?!  I’d love to know them!!

Thursday’s Fab Five

This week has been my spring break week off from work, and it has been incredible!  I visited NJ to see friends and family for the Easter weekend and now I’m back in the D.C. area ready for a relaxing next couple of days before heading back to work.

I did quite a bit of shopping when I went home, so I’m thinking about doing a small Target haul next week?  I also picked up some goodies from Pier 1 and Ulta…of course.

Anyway, here are my favorites from the past two weeks!

Thursday's Fab Five

Essie Spring 2016 ‘Lounge Lover’ Nail Polish, $8.50
I currently have this on my nails and OMG I’ve gotten so many compliments on it and it’s only been a few days!  This coral-y pink makes me want to lay poolside with a margarita, its such a fun and punchy color.  Def a winner of this spring 2016 collection!

Bath & Body Works ‘Amsterdam- Spring Tulips’ 3-Wick Candle, $22.50
A gift from the Easter bunny…such a smart animal that guy.  Amsterdam is the ultimate spring flowery candle, it really does smell like tulips.  Hopefully Bath & Body Works will have another candle sale soon, I always stock up on my favorite flower-y scents during this time of year.

AG Stevie Ankle Jeans, $120
Everything from AG fits me so well, and the Stevie Ankle Jean has been my favorite style for years now.  I have them in a few colors, and I just added this dusty pink to my collection.  Right now Antropologie has them on sale for $120 (from $178), plus an extra 25% off with the code XTRAXTRA.

LOFT Bouquet Tie Back Dress, $89.50
I recently added this simple LOFT dress to my spring work wardrobe.  The length is perfect for me as a teacher, and I have a variety of light sweaters I can wear with it as well.  I was drawn to the simplicity of the shape, and the color palette gives me plenty of shoe options.  I was able to score this dress for 40% off the other week, hopefully there will be another sale soon since I know this price isn’t the most ideal.

Victoria Secret ‘Perfect Shape’ Bra, $39.50
This is my favorite bra of all time, so much so that I’ve ordered it in multiple colors.  I don’t like padded or push up bras, and that can be difficult to find at Victoria Secret.  The comfort in this bra is awesome, overall it really is the best bra I’ve ever purchased- and that’s saying a lot considering I’ve bought much more expensive bras from both VS and elsewhere.
