NYC Happenings: Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton Exhibit

Before I get into this Louis Vuitton greatness…

A few days after Christmas my bestie, Heather, & I took the train into NYC with our Mom’s to have fun in the city.  We got our Mom’s tickets to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, with the Rockette’s, and the Radio City Stage Door Tour, where they met and had a cute photo sesh with a Rockette.  If you live in the tri-state area, or plan on visiting NYC during the next holiday season, this is an awesome gift to give…trust me.

You can find more info on the Radio City Stage Door Tour here!

Thursday’s Fab Five

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching & I love being at home on the weeknights cooking dinner and catching up on my favorite shows.  Don’t you?!

The weather has been so weird here in D.C., first it was warm and gross, now it’s cold and clammy.  I honestly can’t keep up with it, and neither can my sinuses!!  The beginning of the week was chilly & rainy, it legit felt like January and gave me the worst sinus headache.  So annoying.

I can’t wait to have off from work tomorrow and drive up to NJ for a wedding!  My good friend Mike…we’ve been friends since pre-k 4, can you believe that…is getting married!!!  It’s going to be such an epic celebration, so make sure you’re following along on both Snapchat (@elizabethmayce) and Instagram stories, @elizabethmayce!

Here are some things I’ve been loving recently, some classic favorites and some new goodies too.  Tweet me some favorites of yours @elizabethmayce!

Thursday's Fab Five

Bath & Body Works Candle in Sweater Weather, $12.50
Right now all B&BW candles are $12.50, which gives you a perfect excuse to go out and buy tons of fall and winter scents.  My favorite for this time of year is def Sweater Weather- it always sells out, so make sure to buy some quickly!  Sweater Weather is the perfect fall scent with notes of woods, eucalyptus, juniper berry, and sage.  The apartment smells incredible within 5 minutes of lighting this, & as I said, it’s everyone’s favorite, so buy it now!!  PS: Ebates gives 1% cash back on Bath & Body Works purchases, if you aren’t an Ebates member, join here!

The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Skin Boost, $29
I wrote about this product back 2012…yes, 2012. Shocking.
It just recently reentered my life, and o.m.g. why did I ever stop using this?!  This skin boost is an incredible morning serum to use, it instantly brightens up my complexion, which has been much needed with this week’s weather.  You can read my original thoughts here, keep in mind, this post was from 2012- but my thoughts on how great the product is, are still the same!
Right now The Body Shop’s having a buy 3, get 3 free promotion.  & Ebates gives you 3% cash-back on your purchase!

Essie Kimono Over Polish, $9
My polish this week is this gorgeous deep purple from Essie’s fall collection last year.  It goes with everything, is the right degree of vampy, and will coordinate perfectly with my cobalt color dress for a wedding this weekend!  This was def one of my favorite colors from last year’s collection, and I’m so happy to be bringing it back into my life this season!  Shop through the link above, and save 2% cash-back through Ebates on HSN!

Gap’s High Rise Ankle Jeggings in Rich Wine, $30
YOU. MUST. GET. THESE. Originally $60, these pants are so comfortable and the rich wine color is amazing with any boot you might have.  I love the rips, they’re subtle enough where people don’t give you a side eye, but just enough to be edgy.  Did that make sense?  I bought these about 2 weeks ago (for 40% off, not 50%!!), and I love, love, love, they way they fit and feel.  I bought the tall size, so they are full length and also look great with heels and flats.   I’m thinking about buying the black moss color as well…for this price, it’s a serious steal.  Use code CHEERS to save an additional 20% off, and use Ebates for 2% cash-back on your purchase!

Dog Mother, Wine Lover Muscle Tee, $30
I love the CoffeeInTheShower Instagram page, so when I saw they had a coupon code, I finally purchased this cute, and incredibly truthful, tee in black.  I love these graphic tees, and I’ve ordered from this company a few times.  It’s decent quality, comfortable fits, and I just love how this tee can perfectly describe me as a human being.

Have a fabulous weekend!!

NYFW Spring 2018: alice + olivia, Derek Lam 10 Crosby, & Zac Posen

This weekend I’ve been catching up on all of the spring 2018 fashion shows.  Milan Fashion Week is currently wrapping up, Paris is up next, and I cannot wait to see what comes out this week!!  I’m pulling out my favorites from New York Fashion Week, so check them out below!
alice + olivia
I love alice + olivia, I always find their dresses comfortable, and I really relate to the brand in general.  I love how easy the dresses in this collection seem, & the green one below is giving me serious Jennifer Lopez vibes.

Derek Lam 10 Crosby
I love Derek Lam, and these 3 pieces from his spring 2018 collection, especially that last dress, really caught my eye.

Zac Posen
Okay, it’s my dream to wear a Zac Posen dress to all future fun events in my life.  I love, love, love his work, he’s such a fun guy, and I think he makes stunning pieces.

NYFW Spring 2018: Alexander Wang & Christian Siriano

NYFW has been in full swing, I used to post my favorite looks, then I let life get in the way.  Well, I’m not doing that this time around, stay tuned through the week for all my NYFW favorites!! I’m starting with to of my favorite designers, Alexander Wang & Christian Siriano.
I watched all the celeb Snapchats while they were at the Alexander Wang #WangFest last night and oh my gosh, I was so jealous I wanted to be there so bad!  The show looked awesome, and the after party looked even better.  I’m loving the grunge look, & the black and white color palette, because of course, I usually only wear black.  Check out my favorite looks below!
Christian Siriano always has a special place in my heart because I was a Project Runway fanatic when I was younger.  It’s been awesome to see him grow as a designer, and I love the collaborations he does with brands such as Target and influencers.  Not only is he now a top designer, but I think he remembers to keep it real, which is so nice to see in the fashion industry.

Looking forward to sharing more of my favorites through the week!

Shop My Closet on Poshmark!

Happy Monday!
This weekend I did a major closet clean out and organization.  I had done the kitchen & living room last weekend, so I decided to tackle the master bedroom & my beauty room (aka guest bathroom) this Saturday during our big 1 inch snowstorm.
I was able to get through the entire project in about 5 hours, and finished with tons of items to sell on Poshmark.  If you aren’t familiar with Poshmark, it’s an online shopping marketplace of people selling their clothing, accessories, and shoes they no longer want.
I’ve never purchased or sold on Poshmark until this weekend, but the community seems awesome & I’ve really enjoyed the ease of listing my items, and the ease of browsing other listings!
Please, please, please check out my closet, here, and see if you like anything I have up for sale!  I have some great, never worn, shoes and clothes.  I’ll be adding more through the week, right now I have 37 listings, I have about 15-20 pieces left to list.  Most of the clothing is size L, and from Loft, Express, & Anthropologie. & I have a range of shoes from Sam Edelman, to Ted Baker & Pour La Victorie, sizes 9.5- 10.
I-ner Sleeveless Shirt, Sz L, $8

Tunic from Anthropologie, Sz 8, $15
Pour La Victorie Heels, Size 9.5, $95

Michael Kors Ariel Suede Platform Heels, Size 10, $50

A List Greek: Sisterhood with Style

While I’m not in college anymore, it’s been some years now, okay…I still remember how much I loved constantly buying anything and everything Chi Omega, especially when I had a little to spoil!  PS: Even in our 20’s I still try to spoil her now and then.
Whether it’s buying things for New Members after Bid Day, during Big/ Little Week, or Sister Appreciation Week, super cute sorority gear can certainly add up in $$$.  I was so happy when A-List Greek reached out to me, and I seriously wish A-List Greek had been around while I was in college, I would’ve bought everything they had!!

Chi Omega A-List Greek

Every girl needs a hair tie, and a bunch of hair ties at that.   These super cute Sorority Hair Tie sets are on sale for $6!  Such an easy present for a sister!  They have a great stretch, and don’t snag at hair, or break.  I was also sent the Chi Omega Metallic Temporary Jewelry Set, and I kept thinking how great it would’ve been to wear this on Bid Day, during a skit, or to a philanthropy event.  It’s just a cute little way to show your sorority pride.

Lastly, I was sent these adorable Chi Omega stackable rings, which were my favorite from what I received!  This really is the perfect gift for your Little or best friend.  The sizing is adjustable, they’re available in rose gold, gold, or silver, & at a $30 price point they’re very affordable for a college girl!

It’s impossible to not at least browse this site for some great sorority gift ideas!  A-List Greek also offers free shipping over $60, so you and a few sisters can place an order together to save some $$ on shipping.  They also offer Group Orders, for any new member gifts, or initiation gifts, your chapter may want to purchase.  Def check them out, as I said, I wish A-List Greek had been in business when I was in college, I would be a repeat buyer for sure!!

[Disclaimer: I was sent the products above for review.  All opinions are my own.]

LOFT Summer Haul

LOFT is without a doubt one of my favorite stores, the sales are incredible, and this past weekend I stumbled onto their site, and scored some seriously great steals.  LOFT was offering 30% off full price merchandise or 40% off if you have a LOFT store card, which of course, I have.  Even though that sale is over, LOFT is now offering 40% off certain styles today, online only!  By the way, this is in addition to the sale items that are an extra 40% off.  I can’t lie though, yesterday the sale styles were an additional 60% off, I paid under $20, even under $10 for a majority of my order.

LOFT often does these random pop up sales, so if you’re a LOFT lover like me, sign up for their emails, that way you’ll always be up to date with the newest sale information.

Sale items + their prices after the extra 60% off!
Bought these in both charcoal & black, they are my favorite leggings ever!

The one full priced item I bought, and received 40% off for, were the Modern Skinny Jeans in Dark Plum Kiss, after the 40% off they came to $41, which isn’t bad at all!  LOFT jeans are so comfortable and last forever.
I haven’t shopped in a while, so this was the perfect little haul for me this summer.  Check out the LOFT website ASAP to save some $$ on summer staples.  If you have Ebates you’ll get 2% cash back on your purchase!  If you don’t know much about Ebates, take a look at the site, here, and learn how you can earn cash back in the easiest way ever!

Sundress Fever

The weather in D.C. has been anything but nice lately, it’s been cloudy, rainy, windy, and cold.  I’m starting to feel as though springtime rooftop happy hours are extinct!
While laying on my couch listening to the rain the other day I found myself perusing my favorite stores looking for some awesome sundresses to add to my collection.  I love wearing dresses to work, I can easily wear a cardigan to keep it appropriate, and then I can slide that cardigan right off if I’m going out after a long day of teaching!  For the rest of the week & Memorial Day weekend D.C. is supposed be hot like, high 80s hot, so I clearly need to run out right now and pick up a few of these super functional dresses!

Old Navy has a ton of affordable easy dresses that you can easily dress up or down depending on what you have planned.  I really don’t shop much in Old Navy, but after finding these, I might just have to stop in ASAP!

I’m a huge fan of Loft and shop there way too often, I’m a little disappointed by their dress selection at the moment, but I am loving that maxi.  & I love Banana Republic, they are always having great sales, this past weekend everything was 40% off, and since I have a Gap Visa card (owned under the same company) sometimes I get an extra discount.

Have you found any new sundresses to add to your collection this season?!

Charming Charlie Under $15 Holiday Gift Guide

I’m obsessed with Charming Charlie.  Too obsessed.
I used to only be able to shop in-store when my Dad was living in Georgia, and until Black Friday I hadn’t been in one in years.  Luckily, a Charming Charlie opened up in New Jersey, so when I was home for Thanksgiving weekend I literally lost my mind and bought everything I saw- even my Mom got hooked immediately.  Charming Charlie has changed so much since I first walked into one, 6 or 7, years ago.  I love how the brand has expanded into way more accessories and now even home items.

The best part of Charming Charlie is the price point, everything is affordable, on trend, made well, and suer gorgeous.
If you’re like me it’s so easy to go Christmas gift crazy.  I have so many important people in my life, and when I see something I think they’ll like, I feel this overwhelming need to get it for them!  The truth is, Christmas shopping can get a bit out of control.  I have a work Secret Pal, as we call it, coming up, and I want to get my best girlfriends something small, so here’s a quick girlie guide for some wallet friendly Christmas gifts this season, specifically from Charming Charlie.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul!

I’m officially Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tapped out.  If you haven’t already checked it out, or if you don’t have a Nordstrom near you, you must look for some goodies online.

I must say, I had a particularly great year with this sale, lots of money was both saved and unfortunately, spent.  I know I won’t be shopping for a while, & that’s fine with me.  The next school year is right around the corner, I’m making healthier lifestyle choices (i.e. not spending $$), so this was my big shopping splurge until Black Friday (because really, you can’t ignore Black Friday).

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Find out more Nordstrom Anniversary info, after the jump!

My first order was the Kate Spade Dot Thermal Travel Mug in Cream, originally $18, on sale for $12.  My travel mugs tend to get messed up quickly, I use them daily and most of the time they aren’t that durable.  I love the color, and the gold polka dots are super girlie & right up my alley.  Unfortunately the cream travel mug is sold out, they have it in black with white polka dots, but it’s full price at $18.  I honestly can’t find the cream version anywhere online, strange.

I also bought the Voluspa ‘Maison Blanc’ Two-Wick Tin Candle Trio, originally $40, on sale for $29.50.  I bought a different scented Voluspa trio pack last year during the Anniversary as well, I’m obsessed with Voluspa but because they can be a bit on the pricey side individually I don’t typically purchase this brand.   I think these candles are so luxurious I only use them in my bathroom, the tins are gorgeous and the scent just fills my bathroom so beautifully.

For my second order I got a pair of Nike Flyknit 5.0’s in black and white.  I love sneakers and I just wanted these so bad, they’ll be full price at $130 after the sale, but I was able to grab them for $97.  Most of the black/white sizes are sold out, but they do have some other colors still available.

My last two purchases are pretty expensive, one of them I purchased myself, the other was a birthday gift.  During the winter months all I do is wear boots, and I honestly have never invested in pairs of boots that last me more than two seasons.  My favorite pair from this past winter are literally falling apart and I would glue them at work…embarrassing- they were also $40, so clearly not too much.

I took the icy plunge and bought a black pair of Frye ‘Melissa Tab’ Knee High Boots and a pair of  Tory Burch ‘Joanna’ Riding Boots in coconut leather (aka dark brown).  The Frye’s were $280, $418 after the sale, and the Tory’s were $320, $495 after the sale.  While the after sale prices are still high, I seriously couldn’t get over the savings of these two brands- Frye & Tory Burch rarelyyyyyyyyy, if ever, go on sale.

I also had $80 in Nordstrom Notes to use up, so I was able to take that off the price of them as well.  I know it seems like a lot, and it is, but I know both of these boots will last me forever.  I would never buy either of these boots at full price, so I jumped at my chance now, andddddd I guess I’ll just not go to brunch for two months.  Oh well, I’ll take boots over brunch any day…especially these two pairs!!

I haven’t received the Tory’s yet, if I’m not crazy in love the second I put them on, I’ll be returning them.  The Frye’s on the other hand are so incredibly comfortable and they look amazing.  I was wearing them around my apartment and even though it’s like 95 degrees outside I seriously didn’t want to ever take them off, they are so gorgeous, and structured, and just PERFECT.  I cannot wait to wear these this fall/ winter!!

Have you purchased any Nordstrom Anniversary Sale goodies?  Let me know in the comments!
