I’m all about Budget Beauty when it comes to skincare. There are some awesome wallet friendly skincare brands and products on the market! Recently, I’m slowly coming around to introducing more budget friendly makeup options, a couple of which are the CoverGirl TruBlend products. I often partner with Influenster when new products come out- so I was super excited when I got a nice little CoverGirl package in the mail! I received four products, I’ll feature two of them today, and two next week.
The first product I tried out was the new TruBlend Base Business Primer. I love a good primer, especially because I have oily skin. & I need a primer to set my makeup up for success through the day. I typically reach for high end primers, thinking that the quality is better than your average drug store brand. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the TruBlend Base Business Primer! I’ve been using it daily before work, after applying my current moisturizer, & I’m loving how my makeup looks after a long day of teaching!
This primer creates a great base & since I’ve pretty much stopped wearing foundation daily, I’m really impressed with how smooth and hydrated my skin looks after applying it. The weather is changing, and hydration is supahhh important, so I’m glad to be adding this into my daily routine.
The second product I’ve been using just about daily is the new TruBlend Undercover Concealer. Unfortunately, the color that was sent to me was a bit too light, but I did improvise by mixing it with my current concealer Once I did this, it matched and looked fine! Undercover is a brightening concealer that’s ideal to use for under eyes. I’ve also been using it down the bridge of my nose, and it gives a nice contouring to this area. In terms of texture I think it’s good, even though I wish it was a bit more blendable. Nonethless, it gets the job done!
Also, I love, love, love, that this concealer comes in 30 shades. CoverGirl has light, medium, tan, and deep color ranges. I always wish there were as many deep tones for women of color as there are light tones, but alas, maybe TruBlend just isn’t there, yet. The Undercover Concealer has been doing a good job at giving me the coverage I need for my every day work look. I def want to look into buying my actual color shade so I don’t have to mix and match with what I already have. BUT, nonetheless, I like what I’ve seen so far from this product as far as a budget beauty buy. Oh yes, & the applicator is sturdy and great for both under the eyes and down the nose!
