I love going out and being with my friends, and I really love how many unique spots there are in the D.C. area to do just that! About a month ago I went to the press night for SPIN, which can be best described as a ping pong social club. & guess what…I’m so here for it!
There are quite a few SPIN locations in the country, but this is the first in the D.C. area, and honestly, it was the first time I had ever heard of them. I think their slogan, The World Needs More Ping Pong, could not be more true…I mean really, who doesn’t love a fun game of ping pong with friends?!
The space is awesome, plenty of lounge areas, great bar spaces, and of course, quite a few ping pong tables. The bar space is great, plenty of room to order drinks and hang out. I was so spoiled by the food they had at the press event, I could not stop eating the little lobster h’oeuvres they were walking around with! The menu has plenty of shareable items, flatbreads, and snacks- perfect for an afternoon with friends.
We all know I loveeeee food & all, but I really love me some great cocktails. & yes, they have happy hour!! The cocktails featured at the opening were outstanding! I could not get enough of The Don, a tequila, mezcal, blood orange concoction that tasted like heaven. & check out that presentation! The winter “Spingria” was also great, I love a good sangria with apple brandy in it. My favorite drink though, that totally caught me by surprise, was the Spinmeister, which was a mix of Jager, mezcal, oat milk, and Linie Aquavit, which is a spiced Norwegian liquor.
I think the addition of SPIN is just what D.C. needs as it continues to grow as a hot spot for fun and entertainment. As I said, the space is great, and you can enjoy SPIN with just one, or a few friends. Double bonus when the food and drink are so on point as well. So, why don’t you join the ping pong nation this weekend, and take a trip over to SPIN- I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
