Clinique Pep Start Exfoliating Cleanser + HydroBlur Moisturizer

I’m a big Clinique fan- every skincare product I’ve ever bought, or used, has been great.  I particularly love the Clinique All About Eyes Serum, it has a great cooling roller ball that’s perfect to use both in the AM and PM.  My most recent Clinique products have been from the Pep Start collection, the Exfoliating Cleanser, and the HydroBlur Moisturizer.

First of all, I love the packaging of the Pep Start line.  It’s bright, and fun, and makes you excited about your routine.  Or, maybe it just makes me excited, not sure- but regardless, the packaging is super cute!

I’d been using the Exfoliating Cleanser in the morning, about twice a week-usually Wednesday and Sunday.  The exfoliant is a 2 in 1 gel cleanser and exfoliator.  Not only am I clearing away any dead skin cells, but I’m also cleansing my skin and prepping it for my morning makeup routine.  It’s a great product to use especially as a foundation for makeup, so I also found myself reaching for this on a Friday or Saturday night before doing a big makeup look.  It’s very gentle, and oil-free, which makes it great for all skin types.

I’ve read that a lot of people use the Exfoliating Cleanser daily, and while I personally do not, I don’t see there being an issue in doing that.  I love the texture of the product, and you can immediately tell it won’t dry out your skin or irritate it.  The gel like consistency makes all the difference, and is something that I now will look for in an exfoliant.

The second Pep Start product I’ve been using is the MicroBlur Moisturizer, which I’ve only been using in the morning, and following up with additional SPF.  This moisturizer lives up to its name, it really does blur imperfections and gives a great base pre-makeup.  When paired with the Exfoliating Cleanser it’s that much better.  Along with blurring, it’s also mattifying, which is what I always look for since I tend to get oily easy.

You can also use this product through the day and apply it over makeup.  I’ve never done this, but with the texture of it, I can see why this is possible.  It’s very lightweight, and the blurring properties probably work great to touch up makeup through the day and hydrate at the same time.

I’m really looking forward to adding more Pep Start products to my routine.  The Double Bubble Purifying Mask looks awesome, great for deep cleansing and energizing skin.  & I always love to keep a good set of makeup wipes next to my bed, the Cleanse & Go wipes are apparently great to remove makeup/ dirt, and give a quick, light exfoliant.
