D.C. Happenings: Fare Well on H St.

Before the start of the new year I had this grand idea in my head of attempting to go vegan.  It ended up not working out so well, but the good news s, I have been making healthier eating choices.  D.C. is def a health conscious city, and there are yummy vegan restaurants popping up left & right.  My personal favorite has been Fare Well, a cute little bar/ restaurant/ bakery on the H St. corridor.

I went with some teacher girlfriends and enjoyed a great brunch on a Saturday morning.  My favorite part of the brunch menu is their small plates. We had the Polenta Fries and Buffalo Cauliflower Dip.  The garlic aioli served with the polenta fries was so addicting, and the buffalo dip was so delish I wish they had had a larger serving!

Fare Well doesn’t offer bottomless mimosas, but I highly, highly suggest the grapefruit mimosa!  & I heard the Tito’s Bloody Mary is pretty awesome too!

I had the Caesar Salad as my entree, the dressing tastes like your typical non-vegan Caesar dressing, super yum.  & the almond “parm” panko  added a great crunch.  I love the presentation of this dish, and it had just the right amount of dressing.

Next time I visit Fare Well for some nomz I def want to try the Mushroom Chickpea Burger or the Mushroom Scampi Pasta.  These both sound so good, especially since the burger comes with that to die for garlic aioli.

My favorite, and my boyfriend’s favorite, part about Fare Well is the vegan dessert selection.  The dessert greatness comes by way of Sticky Fingers, a super popular vegan bakeshop in D.C.  Not only do they have amazing cakes…funfetti, s’mores, carrot, cookie dough, just to name a few, they also have great PB&J bars, chocolate chip cookies, & rainbow cookies!!

Def check out Fare Well on H St. for delicious plant based nomz and incredible is this really vegan dessert!
