On Monday night I went to The George Washington University’s Inaugural Ball at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in D.C. It was so much fun, a night filled with lots wine and champagne…enough said.
I thought a side pony would go perfectly with my dress, so I used a picture of Eva Longoria as inspiration. Shout out to Casal’s in Clarendon, it’s my new favorite salon, and they def have a new customer after my fabulous experience there. Before you start your appointment they give you a scalp, shoulder, and hand massage. Ummmm, perfection.
Then I headed over to Blue Mercury for makeup, I love going to Blue Mercury for event makeup…in my opinion it’s way better than going to MAC [more options, less drag queen] and way way better than going to Sephora [more experienced staff].
My dress is from Bloomingdales, it’s Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 RTW.
I absolutely loved this dress and I can’t wait to wear it again. It was super comfortable, you can’t see but there’s a slit, and the lace bodice was beautiful. I also loved the cinching, I thought it was super unique and added another element to the dress without being too much, or taking away from the top.
I can’t find it for purchase anywhere online, so sorry I don’t have a link for it!
In Men’s Wearhouse waiting for somebodyyyyy to be given the correct sized tuxedo. Borderline catastrophe, but in the end crisis averted. The lace detailing was amazing, and the one shoulder cut of the dress so flattering.
I really didn’t want to wear much jewelry, I just wanted more of a statement piece, and this Kenneth Jay Lane ‘Polished Gold Links Cuff’ was perfect. You can find it on Rent the Runway, here!
I didn’t take a good picture of my shoes, but I wore Giuseppe Zanotti’s Black Patent Leather Peep-toe Mary Jane Pumps. I got them a couple of years ago so I don’t think you can find them online anywhere.
My beautiful friend Paulina wore BCBG’s Maxine Evening Gown [shop it here]. She looked fabulous, obviously…& her shoes were super fab, by Guess!
Here are some other pics from a great evening! =]
PS: I fully plan on being at the Official Inaugural Ball next time around.
