Makeup Bag Must Have: Rosebud Salve

Every single person on the face of this planet should own Smith’s Rosebud Salve.  Literally, every single person.
This is one of the best and most useful products ever invented, I’ve been using it since high school, I use it for everything, and one tin will last you forever.  What can be better than all that?!
Rosebud Salve is basically an all purpose balm.  I use it on my lips everyday, especially before bed.  You can also use it as a skin moisturizer (great for the winter months), to soothe burns, moisturize cuticles, and help clear up a blemish.  All that for $6?? Yes, please!
The smell is so soft, obviously a rose hint to it, and it applies glossy looking but not sticky…another huge plus.
ONE super teeny-tiny downfall to Rosebud Salve, opening the tin can be very difficult sometimes if you put it back on unevenly the previous time you used it.  One time I just threw it out because I literally couldn’t open it even with a knife, and neither could anybody else.  But…that was just once, so whatever.
The company, Smith’s, also makes some variations such as Minted Rosebud Salve, which I tried once.  It wasn’t bad, and I didn’t have any real cons against it, I just much prefer the original.  They also have a strawberry one if you’re all into the scent thing.
If you’ve ever been to Sephora you know this product is located at the check-out line!  So, if you’ve been staring at it wondering if you should give it a shot, I say go for it, you’ll love it!

  1. I keep mine next to my bed. I mostly use it for a lip balm but I will dab some on my dry elbows. I'll also use it on my cuticles if I think my usual cuticle oil is slacking off. Love it!

  2. I've never seen this before but it looks so pretty. In all honesty though, I probably wouldn't use it for anything other than my lips as I've tried multi-purpose balms before (Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour) and this has been the case. Not sure why really, just find the texture a bit weird on my skin and prefer to go with creams for things like dry skin etc.
Ahh, I so know what you mean about the tins, I find that so annoying with the Vaseline ones! I really like the vintage inspired packaging of this one though, so cute.

  3. Oh this salve. We're best friends. I think I have at least 5 tins all over the place. I know for sure there is one in my purse, one in my car, one in my bedside table, and one in the kitchen drawer. It's such an amazing little miracle worker!
